Purpose
This qualification equips learners with essential skills and knowledge to enhance customer service and support world-class operations in international logistics and supply chain management. Logistics is a significant part of the supply chain in South Africa and contributes to higher-than-average costs. These costs are largely due to inefficiencies and skill gaps. To remain globally competitive, South Africa must achieve just-in-time delivery through efficient, skilled supply chain management.
The identified target group includes individuals who are currently working in the shipping, or forwarding and clearing environment, or aspire to do so.
A qualified learner will be able to:
- Forward cargo within the local and international logistics environment.
- Observe compliance with statutory requirements within the local and international logistics environment.
- Conduct warehousing operations within the local and international logistics environment.
- Assist with distribution of cargo within the local and international logistics environment.
